#21 One, two, three, infinite garden come at me!

— Roma

In this three thousand squared meter garden in the outskirts of Rome, Studio Urka immediately stepped into action to create something elegant and refined capable of respecting the land’s genius loci as well as the needs of both owners. The project begins by rethinking the two main garden accesses, creating a vehicle ramp on one side and a pedestrian access on the other. The pedestrian access features a fantastic metal stairway, composed of well-thought terraced steps which guide the visitor to the outdoors through a marvelous green experience between topiary bushes and Mediterranean plants in colorful bloom. To conclude, numerous flowerbeds of mid-shade and full-sun plants are placed within the garden, underlying key focal points through gorgeous vegetation. Main functional attractions include a gorgeous living area in the middle of nature, a dining area among terracing, a stonework kitchen, a vegetable garden, a stairway to access the terracing, pathways among orchards, and so on… Our main goal was to allow the owners to fully enjoy what Nature had to offer, without neglecting the aesthetics and functionality of the outdoors.
